Tangled

All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been

Does that song sounds familiar? If you guessed is from Tangled, you're correct! Jenna had hair down to her waist and every day, she felt like poor Rapunzel. Brushing and combing the tangles killed her, so she finally agreed to get it cut. I tried to convince her to donate, but she didn't want to cut that much off. It's so much easier to comb now! Hallelujah!

On the Road to a Black Belt--Yellow

Kristen is loving Tae Kwon Do! She worked hard and is a quick learner and earned the chance to test and move up to yellow belt. She passed with ease, just like I knew she would. Congrats!

Happy 18th

Jon and I celebrated our 18th anniversary on November 15th. What blows my mind is that's enough time to have lived another life--like I could've been born, grew up, and graduated from high school, becoming an adult, in that same amount of time! Some days, I think it's amazing that we still love each other, but other days, it's a given. I still feel like I'm 20, so I don't know how I'll feel when I feel like we've been married for longer than I've been alive, haha. Our love grows everyday and is a journey that I dint ever regret taking.

To celebrate, we went to a bed and breakfast about an hour away. It was nice to have a relaxing dinner, time to watch a movie, and a chance to sleep in, not to mention being able to enjoy a beautiful area. Here's to the next 18!

NBA

I love basketball. I don't play, but I love to watch. Our neighbor invited us to go to the Jazz game a few weeks ago--Jon, Kendall, and I. We had dinner there and had great lower bowl seats. We had fun watching, cheering, talking, and bonus--it was a win!!! Gordon Hayward, #20, did a summer camp last year and Kendall went. He's a really nice guy and is fun to watch him play. Maybe we'll get to go to another game this season. What's crazy is that little guy on the Suns (purple) is Kendall's height!

Happy Halloween

We had a fun and warm Halloween. The kids were all out of school today, which was nice. Kendall didn't dress up, but he was Mermaid Man for the Girls Preference dance at the school last week. Kristen was a dead dr. Jarren was a wizard nerd for school and a scary guy for trick or treating. Jenna was a Gothic princess. The older two hung out with friends and the younger two went trick or treating with friends. We didn't get too many kids this year. The most popular costume this year was Elsa, from the Disney cartoon Frozen. There were at least 47 of them at the school parade. Fun times!

Toby

Right after the kids went back to school, Jon was scratching our 11.5 year old dog, Toby, under the chin and found a huge lump. We got him in to see the vet and the very was pretty sure it was some type of tumor. We decided to go ahead with surgery to have it removed and he had that done on September 2nd. He did really well, but was very mad after it was done and over with--they put a cone on him. He tried to pull that cone off, which hurt his incision, which made him cry and cry. He couldn't function with it--he kept running into things and couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep. He couldn't eat or drink. The kids hand fed him and figured out that he would drink from a syringe. He loved his meds. After a day or two, he got used to the cone and was able to be almost normal, jumping, doing stairs, sleeping, running, etc. We were all more than happy when he got the stitches out and the cone off ten days later. We found out it was a large sweat gland cyst and was totally benign. What a relief!
