It Happened Again!

I caught Jenna in the act this morning. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get my older 3 kids to keep the bathroom door closed? Yes, the serial toilet bather strikes again! Jenna gave her Bea another bath in the toilet this morning. She did it while I was busy doing another load of laundry and trying to get breakfast cleaned up, but it wasn't the whole bowl full of water this time.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering if I let her get electrocuted in the process, the answer is no. Kristen wanted her hair in sponge curlers last night and Jenna was insistent that she had some in her hair too. Let's just say it went a little curly--I should have put them in all over in her hair instead of just on top. :)

She is really going to hate her hair when she's older--it's crazy--especially after she sleeps.

Jarren is obsessed with dressing up and sometimes combines characters. He's usually a Star Wars character (namely Boba or Jango Fett for all you fans out there), but this time was a Lord of the Rings warrior/cowboy.

Bea's Bath & Hooie's Mess

Okay, since I'm new to this and have no idea--do you have to post pictures with your entries? I'm not going to, since I was a little too busy with a mess to think about grabbing the camera. I just have to remember this though.

Jarren is quite obsessed with Star Wars characters and wanted me to help him look at some of them on the computer. While I was wrapped up with that, I assumed that Jenna was still busy playing in her room. All of the sudden, she comes in with her favorite pink blanket (named Bea) and says, "Mama! Bea wet! Bea had bath. All clean." I grabbed Bea and it now weighed about 15 pounds heavier and was soaking wet. I wondered where in the world Jenna managed to get into so much water and then it dawned on me--the toilet! Sure enough, there was hardly any water left in the toilet--it was all soaked into Bea and splattered all over the floor. I guess I don't wash her Bea enough and Jenna felt she had to take matters into her own hands.

After I cleaned the mess, I told Jarren to play quietly while I got Jenna down for a nap. I came out of her room and he'd gotten into Kristen's stamp (ink) pad and there was pink ink all over him and the counter. I asked what he was doing and he told me that Hooie did it. Hooie is Jarren's favorite rag. Oops. I meant his favorite blanket. Hooie is alive to Jarren and of course, anything bad isn't Jarren's fault, it's Hooie's. Of course Hooie didn't have any ink on him, but Jarren's pants, hands, and shirt were covered!!

Ah, the joys of Motherhood!

Happy Easter!

Easter 2008!

We colored some eggs on Saturday night. We only did a yellowish/greenish color, purple, pinkish/red, and blue.

Jenna dumped all of hers into the red coloring and Jarren did most of his green. Eggs are soooo expensive right now! About $2 a dozen--so they each only got a dozen to color.

Easter morning brought a frenzy of looking for hidden eggs. It was kind of cold outside--about 30 degrees, with a wind chill of 24, so most of the eggs were hidden indoors.

The ones outside were on the verge of being frozen. Jenna didn't really get it. All she cared about was eating the candy. All roundish candy is called a "circle treat." All day--"More circle treat?"

Happy Birthday Kristen!

Kristen turned 8 on March 18. She had such a good day! This year she got a friend party and decided that she did not want it to be held on her birthday. We did it the day after, since it was the start of spring break. Kristen planned out her party back in January (yes, she was that excited). She wanted to have a pond party and play games and do activities related to frogs. I thought that was very interesting...considering she's very into Littlest Pet Shops, Polly Pockets, Hannah Montana, and stuff like that. But frogs it was. We handed out frog invitations, made frog cupcakes, played musical lily pads (instead of chairs) and other frog-related games, and handed out frog toys. She was totally in her element, being the center of attention. :0)

We made a butterfly cake for our family party and had a treasure hunt for her to find her gifts. She didn't get many toys--but we figured her friends would take care of that (which they did).

Kristen had a really good day and got a lot of nice things. She was just so excited!!
