Unexpected Project

Our deck has needed restraining for a few years now. Jon decided to take ever other slat off to make cleaning easier ad that's when we realized how poorly the deck was built!! Not to mention unbalanced, warped, etc. He ripped the whole thing out and is building a brand new one. But it's a lot more time than we'd planned one.

First Day of School Part 2--the olders

Hmmm...for some reason, Teen 1 and Teen 2 were not as excited for first day pictures. In fact, Teen 1 managed to escape before I even realized that I didn't get a picture, so his is on the second day. He's a sophomore (10th) and in high school now. Our senior neighbor takes him to school--lucky. Teen 2 is in 8th grade.

First Day of School Part 1--the youngers

August 26 was the first day of school for all of the kids. Buggins and Bedums had a lot of fun posing--I think they were excited, yet nervous, to go back. So far so good!! 5th grade and 2nd grade.

New Shoes

Of all the shoes in three shoe stores, this is what she wanted most!!

Reunion Fun

We had a fun family reunion last weekend!! There were lots of cousins and second cousins running around but the highlight was horseback riding. Bedums planned her outfit out more than a week in advance and the girls were in heaven!! Buggins was pretty nervous and kept yelling, "Whoa!!" Teen 1 got a lot of practice driving in too. Fun, fun.

And these two are twin cousins--born the exact same day but four years apart.

Swim Lessons Part 2

Buggins mastered the yellow level. I should've had him in blue. He's improved sooo much over the last year!! He loved the high dive, but kept pulling his knees up so they'd slap the water and he'd come up yelling, "OW!!!"

Swimming Lessons

Bedums completed level white/red. She just needs to work on her back. She even dared do the diving board, which is huge and a first for her!!

They hatched!!

Amazingly, the butterflies hatched today!! They're pretty. They'll live 1-2 weeks and hopefully will lay eggs.
