Teen 2 loves being the first to see a new, great movie. The problem is, there's no way I can go to a midnight movie and still function. With Catching Fire, we found out they started showings earlier than midnight. So, I got tickets for Divergent for the 8:10 showing--the night before it came out! Luckily, one of my good friends has a daughter who is Teen 2's good friend. We all went, plus another daughter, and loved it! The end to a great birthday week.
Teen 2 turned 14 on March 18th. She seemed to have a really good day. I checked her or for lunch and we weren't able to do presents until after dinner with everyone's crazy schedules. She didn't seem to mind. She picked gnocchi, breadsticks, and salad for dinner and a red velvet cake. Yum! She got some fun teenage things--shoes, clothes, books, movie, etc. She had a checkup the next day. Poor girl--she's about done growing and is only 4' 11.5". I sure do love that girl so much!
Some people really get into holidays, making each one seem almost like Christmas. More power to them! I'm not crafty; I'm not creative. My holidays are much more simple. For St Patricks Day, the kids found some gold candy on the table. The younger two had green milk. We wore green and ate corned beef and cabbage for dinner. That's about to the extent I go. :)
My in - laws brought back a fun fish kite from China a few years ago. Last weekend was the perfect time to fly it. Teen 1 wanted to give it a try and a big gust of wind took it right out of his hands. It ended up in a tree, but a kind neighbor had a ladder and got it down.
Bedums was mad at Buggins the other day and wrote him a note to show how she felt. It says something like, "I don't like what you're saying."
Teen 1 got his braces off almost 3 weeks ago. I was kind of surprised because they told us about 2 years and it was a few months earlier than that. Surprised, but I won't complain!!
Buggins earned his Webelos badge at his last Cub Scott Blue and Gold Banquet this week. He has been working really hard to get it done. He got to choose a cheer--he picked the trash can cheer, but instead of yelling, and had to growl like a bear.
