I'm IT!

I've been tagged by my friend, Teresa.

Here are the rules:
Link the Person who Tagged you.
Mention rules on your blog.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Leave a comment to let them know.

1. I worry way too much about silly little things--things that don't really matter. Sometimes I'll wake up in the night and worry about how the carpool schedule will go for dance; or which stores I'm going to go to in the morning; or which part of the house I should attempt to clean. Silly things like that.

2. I'm so scared of these garter snakes, that I've let my yard turn into a jungle. I've only found 3 in the backyard this summer, but we've lived here for over 7 years and I've never seen one in my yard until now. And now I let them rule the yard. Why am I so scared of something so small?

3. I can remember dates like you wouldn't believe. Not the kind of romantic dates. But like dates on the calendar. I have no idea why, but birthdays, anniversaries, etc. just stick in my mind like glue and I remember them forever. I don't remember years very well though. I can tell you your birthday is on this date, but I would have no idea how old you are, unless I can think of a way to relate it to something.

4. I hate to wear shoes. Of course I do when I have to, but my feet are sooo calloused and gross because I hate shoes.

5. Back to feet....I never paint my fingernails, but I always have to have my toenails painted, and the brighter the color, the better. Especially purplish colors.

6. I don't like jewelry or perfume. I know--I'm a weird woman. I wear my wedding ring (most of the time) and very occasionally earrings, but that's about it. And occasionally I'll use scented lotion, but that's the extent of it.

I'm sure there are a lot more quirks about me, but that's what comes to the top of my head.

I tag: Jen, Denise, Tayna, Monica, Jenn, and Erin.

HAHA on me!

I've decided that I'm pretty dumb. When I created this blog, it said something about google and to enter your email address, so I thought you had to have a gmail account. I already have a couple of email accounts (although none of them are gmail), so I just used Jon's gmail address to sign up. And now it won't let me change it! What a pain.... Did anyone else have this problem?

Pictures of Jenna

Of course Jenna won't keep her diaper on lately, but it was really bad when she was outside and took it off so she could sit in the ditch. Here are a few silly pictures of her. Oh, and she actually asked to have the bows in her hair. I was quite surprised! She usually just rips things out when I put them in.

I'm Back!

I'm finally back on the computer. We have a lap top and the little wire in the middle of the cord (the part that plugs into the computer) somehow got bent and when Jon tried to fix it, it snapped off. We ordered a new cord and it just came this afternoon, so now we can use the computer and charge the battery back up. YAY!!

Jon had to go in to the doctor on Tuesday and get all the stuffing taken out of his nose and he finally got to take the bandage on the outside off this morning. He's been up and at it and is doing well.

Kendall is growing up way too fast--he's at a Vanessa Hudgens (of High School Musical fame) concert at the State Fair tonight with some neighbors. I remember getting little crushes on celebrities, but I think I was a little older than he is.

Kristen was exercising on the tread mill and said, "I just killed some calories!" I don't know why, but that made me laugh.

For my LDS friends...I just got released from being Nursery leader for almost 2 years and was put in as 1st counselor in the Young Women. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated! I haven't been in there since I was a Young Woman myself. I went to my first activity on Wednesday night and met the girls--there are about 10 and they are really cute and sweet and I'm excited to work with them.

Updates

Jon's surgery went well. The doctor said that Jon's was as bad as you can get. He's tired, but not in too much pain. He's pretty bruised and swollen. He can't breathe really well yet, but he's not bleeding as much today. The operating rooms were backed up, so we were up there about 2 hours later than I thought we would be. THANK YOU Dad and Shane for watching the kids for 8 hours!!!

I've decided to try and hold off on potty training until the kids go back to school. It's too hard having kids in and out all day long and Jenna gets distracted. Also, with Jon needing help, it's hard. Thanks to everyone for tips though! I can't wait to try some of them and see if we can't get rid of these diapers. Jenna took her diaper off the other day and went on the rug.

I found another stupid snake in the yard yesterday! It was a baby and Kristen went over to it and it tried to strike her. I HATE snakes! I can't decide if we have a nest in our yard or if the neighbor does, since 2 of the 3 were found right next to the fence. Yuck!

Doorbell Ditching and Other Stuff

So I finally caved and went doorbell ditching with Kendall. I told him the ONLY way I would go is if we made cookies and secretly placed them on the porch, rang the doorbell, and then ran. We hit 4 houses in the neighborhood and didn't even get caught! Kendall had so much fun that I think he went to one or two more houses and didn't even take cookies--they were friends though. I guess this is the age where doorbell ditching is fun.

Jon is having surgery tomorrow morning. He has a severely deviated septum (nose) and is finally having that fixed. The dr called it malformed and laughed when he looked at it--he said it's one of the worst he's ever seen. Jon will be off work all of next week. After that *sigh* EVERYONE goes back to work/school! It's really been a fun second summer, but it will be nice to get back into the swing of things.

Camping Trip

Last weekend, our ward had a campout about an hour away. We had a really fun time! There was a sand volleyball court, a zip line, and lots of places to explore.

There were about 15 families up there and the kids all found other kids to play with. This is our first (and probably only) camping trip of the year--we had tin foil dinners and roasted s'mores with everyone. The ward provided a yummy scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash brown breakfast.

The kids all slept like logs, even though it got a bit chilly. Jon and Kendall got up early and there were 2 big moose across the road from our tent.
